Support newly organized Starbucks workers in Oak Creek this Saturday as we call on Starbucks management to respect the rights of workers and adhere to fair union election principles.
WHAT: Rally to Support Newly Organized Starbucks Workers
WHEN: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 19
WHERE: 8880 S Howell Ave, Oak Creek, WI
From coast-to-coast baristas and cafe workers at Starbucks are coming together with Workers United and demanding union rights. In a letter signed by a majority of the Oak Creek cafe’s workers and e-mailed to Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson, the staff expressed resolve in organizing their workplace with the Chicago Midwest Regional Joint Board of Workers United:
“Wisconsin has a rich and important history in the American labor movement despite former Governor Scott Walker’s historic attack on our state’s unions. We are proudly standing together 11 years later both as Starbucks partners and Wisconsinites to speak up for what we believe in as a store and as a state.”
Join Wisconsin workers in solidarity as we support our organizing brothers and sisters in the fight for union rights and a strong collective bargaining contract at Starbucks.
I love the slogan:" United we bargain, Divided we beg".
It is so very accurate!
"I consider it important, indeed urgently necessary, for intellectual workers to get together, both to protect their own economic status and also, generally speaking, to secure their influence in the political field.
