Wisconsinites are standing in solidarity with IUE-CWA Local 84704 workers at GE-Savant in Bucyrus, Ohio where union members make some of the last remaining made-in-America LED light bulbs. The bulbs are sold exclusively at Walmart. The company has recently signaled plans to cut jobs and move production to China.
On Saturday, February 20, Wisconsin workers participated in a National Worker Solidarity Day of Action to Fight Plant Closures and Save Jobs. At Walmarts across the country, working people took action to call on Walmart to keep the LED lightbulbs they buy made-in-America. At four Walmarts in Wisconsin -- Milwaukee, Madison, Franklin and Sheboygan -- we let shoppers know how to take action to protect American manufacturing and American jobs by handing out flyers to raise awareness about this issue. You can support IUE-CWA workers by singing the petition below!
