It’s time to tell Congress to honor their promise to our veterans and fully staff the VA. There are currently 49,000 vacant positions at Veterans Affairs across the country – many for doctors, nurses, mental health professionals, and other essential care givers. Our veterans didn’t serve our country just to come back to wait in line or fight with big hospital corporations to receive the quality care they deserve.
Across the nation, concerned veterans, citizens and VA workers are rallying to call for full staffing levels at the VA.
WHAT: Milwaukee Rally to fully staff the VA
DATE: Thursday, November 9, 2017
TIME: 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Milwaukee VA Medical Center, 5000 W National Ave
We are coming together to rally to stop any further attempts to dismantle the VA and call for any vacancies to be filled immediately to ensure our veterans receive the care they deserve. The VA’s medical and clinic facilities are not just healthcare centers. They are healing and treatment communities. The type of specialized care, and access to others who are going through similar treatments and have endured similar injuries, creates a community that cannot be replicated.
Call Congress at 1-833-480-1637 and demand congress staff these vacancies at the VA today!
Veterans have spoken. In a recent poll conducted by the VFW, 92% of veterans said they want the VA to invest in fixing their deficiencies -- not a universal health care card or privatization. Eight of the largest veterans’ service organizations recently joined forces to speak out against Congress’s attempts to starve the VA by increasing funding for the unwanted Choice program. We are not going to stand for Congress and any Administration shortchanging our veterans.
