Union members are part of the community and are often giving back to our neighbors and neighborhoods. Whether it is sending 300 first responders and skilled volunteers to Puerto Rico to help with disaster relief, organizing to handout cleaning supplies in Texas in the wake of Hurricane Harvey or holding charitable drives to help those in need, union members use our strength, solidarity and skills to give back.
It was no different this year when volunteers with UA Steamfitters Local 601 used their pipe skills knowledge and training to do heat and maintenance checks for local veterans in their annual Heats On initiative. The “Heats On” event sent volunteers in the greater Madison area to make so heat, maintenance and furnace checks to ensure everything is working in the homes of veterans before the Wisconsin winter sets in.
Thanks to the UA Steamfitters Local 601 volunteers for using your union training, skills and knowledge to help make sure those in need and our local veterans have functioning furnaces for the coming winter!
