Russ Feingold, Wisconsin candidate for U.S. Senate, stopped by Union-Made in America (UMA) Specialties a unionized small business in Pewaukee, Wisconsin that specializes in union-made apparel, promotional gear, screen printing and embroidery. Russ spoke out against bad trade deals like the Trans-Pacific Partnership that hurt Wisconsin workers by shipping good jobs overseas.
“I’m proud to be a Badger and proud to support union-made in the USA,” Russ told a group of media present at the shop. “We need to start over on the TPP. TPP is not a fair deal and hurts Wisconsin. My opponent (Ron Johnson) couldn’t wait to vote to Fast Track this bad trade deal. I’ve always been independent on this issue, I opposed NAFTA. I am glad to see that across the political spectrum it’s becoming obvious that TPP is a rotten deal.”
Russ also talked about the need to continue to make things in America and to support workers by raising the minimum wage.
During Russ's visit Phil Neuenfeldt, President of the Wisconsin AFL-CIO, was on hand to talk through details with Rosemarie about an upcoming order for Wisconsin AFL-CIO Convention bags.
