In a huge victory for Wisconsinites, those fighting to save the middle class will remain inside the Capitol tonight. At 4:00 pm the Governor and Republican Senators wanted the building cleared of all citizens in order to resume normal operating hours.
The deadline came and went. It soon became clear that those fighting for rights would hold their Capitol for another sleep. Community members and working families are spending the night in what is becoming known as “The People’s Cathedral.” Many more will gather at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow as the fight continues.
“We are here and we will remain here until the middle class is protected,” said Stephanie Bloomingdale, Secretary Treasurer of the Wisconsin State AFL-CIO. Bloomingdale was one of hundreds of ralliers who remained inside the Capitol well into the night.
Chants of “what do we want? Justice,” -- “Whose house? Our house?” and "this is what democracy looks like" filled the Rotunda.
The people of Wisconsin were not removed from their house tonight. They held the Capitol against the Governor for one more day. Join us tomorrow inside the Rotunda as the momentum to “kill the bill” grows.

YES! HOLD THE HOUSE and show them what democracy looks like! Stop this conservative spread through the states. Fight for your rights.
This IS what justice looks like.
You have my support.
