While the Wisconsin State AFL-CIO makes endorsements for statewide elections, central labor councils are encouraged to establish their own screening and endorsement policy for candidates running for local offices.
On February 4th, the Greater West Central Area Labor Council, in conjunction with AFSCME, held a candidate screening for 2010 spring elections. Official endorsement decisions were made on Thursday, February 11th at the Greater West Central Area Labor Council’s regular meeting.
The following candidates have been endorsed by the Greater West Central Area Labor Council in the belief that they will best serve the interests of local working families:Chippewa County Board

Several of the endorsed candidates are current or former union members, and all have demonstrated a commitment to working people.
