"We have a chance to get affordable health-care with this bill out there," said Mary Goulding, President of AFSCME Council 40. “It's not just a union issue."
Yesterday, AFSCME issued a new report highlighting the cost benefits of the proposed House legislation and calling for immediate passage. Armed with this new information, leaders from the Wisconsin State AFL-CIO held a press conference in La Crosse and a press call in Green Bay to talk about continuing statewide, grassroots actions around health care reform.
Participants from AFSCME, IAMAW, UA, USW and the Western Wisconsin AFL-CIO thanked Rep. Ron Kind and Rep. Steve Kagen for siding with Wisconsin working families rather than insurance company special interests. Both Congressmen have demonstrated strong support for a public insurance option, which is necessary to control costs and create competition for insurance companies.
In Green Bay, USW District 2 Political Director Mike Pyne highlighted the incredible effort his members are making; they have written approximately 850 letters to Congress so far. 122 USW Locals across the state plan to distribute health care flyers and stickers to 181 worksites during the upcoming week.
Be sure to call your Representative before the important House vote, and then follow up with your Senators to make sure they also side with working families:

In Facebook, there are lots of pages within a Facebook Fan Page. These are called as tabs and they are ascertained in the top bar of you page. You can do a lot of things with these Facebook tabs. The basic Facebook tabs are your information, wall, photos, videos, discussion, events and links. These tabs can be modified, as can the information and graphics on each tabbed page to come across your exact business requirements. For example, you can add forms, graphics and lot more too any page. You can as well make your own Facebook tabs instead of adding to the already available tabs.
